JUDY! JUDY! JUDY!

Published by admin under Altered art, Friendship, Mixed media

My friend, Judy Mobley, of Prescott, AZ, via Chesterton, Indiana and Midland, Texas (Judy has gotten around!) sent this piece of art to me which she created. When I opened the envelope I laughed out loud! I LOVE the humor behind this. It is totally cool and I love what she has done. Judy’s daughter, Kelle McCarter, is the artist behind the head used on the ‘human’. Kelle has drawn a whole series of ladies’ donning hats for us. You can find the rubber stamp used on this piece HERE
.

Altered art is so much fun, whether you are altering a book, a box, a picture, or a piece of furniture! Your heart goes into each piece and I’m SO thankful to have a part of Judy’s heart in her art! Thanks Judy!

Cute wearable for a hot summer day

Here’s a great little tee made by Natalia of Spain. Sleeveless and cool. Stamp your images using a fabric ink such as VERSACRAFT by TSUKINEKO. Heat set the images by top pressing with an iron and pressing cloth. VOILA!
Done! Machine washable. How easy is that? Feeling like you want to color? Then color in using fabric inks by Tsukineko. Again, heat set to be sure. asy peasy and darn cute too!

Christmas in July (whew! I just made it!)

Published by admin under Basic card

These were fun cards to make. First I took a 12″ x 12″ piece of black cardstock and cut it down to 5-1/2 ” wide by 12 inches long. With my SCOR-PAL I made scores every 2 inches; both valley and mountain folds. On the front of the first fold I stamped using Stazon WHITE for the greeting and speckles. Spellbinders circle dies saved me from having to handcut or hand punch the circles in various sizes. Circles were made from cardstock in red, green and neutral colors. A bit of STICKLES glue and LIQUID APPLIQUE were used for embellishments. Red and gold tinsel embossing powders by RANGER were applied to various images. Shiny gold cardstock was used for the Christmas ornament’s tops and gold cord for the hangers. 3 ornaments were glued onto each mountain fold; various sizes. When folded the card slips easily into an A2 envelope for mailing; no additional postage needed! Also I used Tsukineko metallic inks for those ornaments I simply stamped. The ink is so luscious and rich that no embossing powder is needed.

Packing HEAT in Arizona!

Published by admin under Friendship

Here’s to the right to bear arms. Arizona has now joined in with the state of Alaska and New Hampshire and passed a bill that will allow its citizens to carry a weapon concealed. Arizona has always allowed the right to carry a weapon, but now anyone can carry concealed. Whether you believe its a right or not, here’s to those great ladies of the past! Would be kind of hard to conceal THEIR weapons in a purse, don’t ya think??? 1acowgirl009Miss Annie Oakley!

On Aging…….

Published by admin under Friendship

OK. So some days are better than others. We all have THOSE days as we age and wonder “WHAT ABOUT THE GOLDEN YEARS?” There’s a little Cat in the HAT poem going around on the internet that a FRIEND sent me (nice friend, huh?) and well, the poem is just TOO funny. So, for all of us that are ‘aging’, however gracefully, here’s to us!
This might be a fun item to use on a 40’s or 50’s or BEYOND card for YOUR friend! Enjoy!

GROW GIRL GROW!!!

Milo, a VERY talented designer from Sweden, has created the card as you see. She has a special way about her work. It is always very layered, very lush, soft colors, colors to die for, lots of embellishments. Sometimes I just stare and stare at her work and everytime I look, I see something different. Notice the tiny ANT in the grass. How cute is that? She also likes to distress the edges of her paper, which really adds a nice touch!
Milo is so into DETAIL and that’s part of what makes her work so fabulous, so creative and so TOTALLY MILO. Enjoy every bit of detail.

Just a pretty picture…

Published by admin under Photograph

climbing-rose While cruising the net one evening I found this picture. Couldn’t take my eyes off of it! Its so European and old and beautiful. Don’t you love the climbing roses? And see how someone has adhered gridwork right to the side of the building to encourage the ‘climbers’; the lovely arches of the window and door. And then, the sweet small panes of glass. I find this entry very appealing; very rustic and very natural.
