Stamping with Terri Sproul
Today we have a great card made for us by Terri Sproul. Terri represents Stewart Superior inks, MASQUEPEN and us! She lives on top of Mt. Palomar in southern California, with her husband and domestic cats and is lucky enough (in my eyes) to be with nature and wild animals. How cool would that be! AND she likes to ‘think outside the box’ when it comes to her art.
Here are some photos and directions from Terri. I apologize for the bluriness. We’ll work on the photography as the days go on.
I used a pre-made card base (only because I have them), and inked all edges using Stewart Superior Memories Chalk “Washed Tan.”
Using the Fiskars Lace border punch, punch lace design out on scrap paper. Using this as a ‘mask’, place over the edge of card base and spray with Memory Mist “Stormy Water.”
Choose some patterned paper and cut using a scallop scissors. Ink all the edges using Memories Chalk “Washed Tan”.
In the center, I used Memories “Art Print Brown” ink and a Stampotique image, “Art is the energy of the soul“. The frame is a chipboard frame covered with patterned paper and ink on all edges.
Here is a leaf I made using PAPERCLAY and a mold from Sweetbrier Studio. The leaf is painted with Twinkling H2O’s “blue grass” and topped with Stewart Superior “Gold” Silk, which gave it additional sparkle.
The flower is a silk flower from the 99 cent store. I punched holes in the flower to add a little distress look and also inked it using Memories Chalk “Washed Tan.” Add a Brad. See how to change the color of your brad here.
Under the flower embellishments I stamped using Stewart Superior’s Palette ink, ” Ballet Blue” and a Stampotique image, “Vintage Script“. Stamp image on the corner only.
This is a great close up of the lace border I made using Memory Mist and border Punch as a mask. Thinking out of the Box again.
Thank you Terri! We look forward to seeing more of your work in the very near future!
Sunny days are ahead. Jess Klein is becoming stronger every day and the nurses refer to him as THE MIRACLE MAN OF MAYO. He has a long road ahead, but that’s OK. Jess is a very brave man.
