When I opened the envelope I laughed out loud! I LOVE the humor behind this. It is totally cool and I love what she has done. Judy’s daughter, Kelle McCarter, is the artist behind the head used on the ‘human’. Kelle has drawn a whole series of ladies’ donning hats for us. She has a special way about her work. It is always very layered, very lush, soft colors, colors to die for, lots of embellishments. Sometimes I just stare and stare at her work and everytime I look, I see something different. Notice the tiny ANT in the grass. How cute is that? She also likes to distress the edges of her paper, which really adds a nice touch!
Milo is so into DETAIL and that’s part of what makes her work so fabulous, so creative and so TOTALLY MILO. Enjoy every bit of detail.

Amy (Wilson) Wellenstein sent me these WONDERFUL tags stamped with Stampotique rubber stamp images mostly from the Daniel Torrente collection. I love what she did. She said it was easy, but I don’t know. Its one thing if I did these. Its ANOTHER THING when Amy does them. She used RIT DYE, powdered form and aluminum throw-away-pans. Mix up your dye, a little bit at a time, and immerse the tags into whatever color you choose.
Hang them on a tree to dry. Once they are all dry, go CRAZY and rubber stamp up a whole bunch. Add all sorts of embellishments AND beautiful, luscious, gorgeous ribbons. You want the recipient to OOOO and AHHH when you hand them over! Amy presents these also as a ‘gift’ of sorts in that the recipient can not only enjoy LOOKING at them or hanging them on their Christmas tree, but ALSO can use them as GIFT tags on presents they give away. Pretty good idea, huh? Yeah, that Amy is pretty darn creative. Thank you Amy for this WONDERFUL idea. You’re the best. Did I say too that Amy makes the most WONDERFUL and BEAUTIFUL sterling silver jewelry?

This snowman, an original image by Daniel Torrente, knows what is important in life. Jo Capper-Sandon brought him to life in a way only she can do! Instead of me trying to explain her technique, here are her own words, ” I created a splashy background from Glimmermists being sprayed onto plastic sheeting then ‘mopping’ up the colour onto cardstock. I stamped the snowman in black Memento and coloured what I felt needed to be shaded areas in with Copic markers. I drew the heart and string in a non bleed fineline pen then attached ribbon to finish.”
I could read her words forever! Couldn’t you? You can almost imagine her talking with the beautiful British accent.

Here’s another great piece of work by Sue. Ink up those tags and go to town! Tags are fun to work with because they are small and fast. You can make a ton of them and tie them together with ribbons, string or even use the binder rings. They are easy to mail and the recipient has lots of pieces to look at and enjoy.
